Milanese wooden sculpture depicting Christ Crucified, 18th century
Carved wooden sculpture representing Christ Crucified. The structure of the body, in the form of a single block with the legs crossed vertically and the accentuation of the muscles of the torso, as well as the strong marking of the facial features of this dead Christ, would seem to indicate, despite a certain archaism, a Nordic origin of the sculpture with Milan precision, although some features such as the expressionistic accentuation of the locks of hair can also be found in Florentine examples from the workshop of Antonio and Giuliano da Sangallo (Crucifix of San Biagio, Petriolo). Provenance: Milan (1730/40). Document: Certificate of Authenticity. Assistance: We are at your disposal for further clarifications or photographic details. Shipment: All over Italy, Europe and the rest of the world at very low prices, secure and traceable. The shipment will be agreed privately and will not be of high cost.
