The head of the Greek philosopher Seneca is also known as Pseudo-Seneca as it was discovered in Herculaneum in 1754 and found in the National Archaeological Museum in Naples. The original located in the 1st century B.C. was the inspiration for numerous sculptors and artists who reproduced its features in bronze castings. Provenance: 20th century Naples.
